Jeff Gentry, P.E., President

Jeff joined Robert E. Funk & Associates in 1995 and then purchased EGS & Assoc. in 2005, along with two other colleagues.
As President, Jeff oversees the daily activities of the business and is intimately involved in all facets of engineering and land planning services that the company provides. Drawing on his 28 years of experience, Jeff specializes in the design of roadways, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, storm water management systems, erosion and sediment control systems, and on-site alternative sewage systems. His extensive engineering background made him instrumental in getting a new residential zoning classification in Augusta County, which allowed the installation of private road networks to access residential properties.
Jeff is an expert in utilizing in the firm’s Global Positioning System (GPS) and specializes in planning and execution of Static and Real Time Kinematic (RTK) surveys, as well as Geographic Information System (GIS) data collection.
Jeff received a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Certificate of Surveying Science from Old Dominion University. He is a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers
Tom Dorr, LS – Vice President

Tom joined EGS & Associates, Inc. in April of 2010. As of October 2018, Tom became a full partner with EGS & Associates. Tom has more than 30 years experience in boundary, ALTA, topographic and lawyer’s title surveys; FEMA elevation certificates; computations and drafting to prepare final subdivision plats and site plans. He also has extensive experience in conducting surveying stakeouts for site improvements, lot configurations, street, water, and sewer layouts.
Tom attended Tidewater Community College and Old Dominion University. He became licensed as a Land Surveyor in 2009 and is an active member of the Virginia Association of Surveyors’ Monticello Chapter.

Tom Riegel, PE – Engineer

Tom joined R.E. Funk & Associates in September of 2003. Tom has more than 22 years experience in site planning and master planning; storm drainage system and stormwater management design; sanitary sewer collection system design; water system distribution design; roadway layout and design; and erosion and sediment control planning. He has extensive experience utilizing CAD and other design software to prepare site plans and construction plans for complex projects as well as preparing submittal packages for regulatory review.
Tom received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Ohio State University. He became licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ohio in 1995 and in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1999.
